What are the advantages of having an Aluminum hull over steel… Alu is 35% the mass of steel, so I presume greater spread using exact engines as on a steel hull. …. 1) is a 400 foot yacht with Alu for the Hull been built ??? … 2) is it possible to have a 400 foot alu hull yacht built in America or anywhere else? I saw on youtube corrosion problems on the Littoral LC-2 USS Independence, hull made from Alu.
