I'm also legally blind, and only 1 state over, i'd love to go sailing with yall. i have sailed across lake Erie as crew on an Irwin 32. also kayaked the length of the Mississippi river and hiked the entire Appalachian trail. if ya ever want to do something crazy hit me up,

Lost my sight in surgical mishap. Never had luxury if “can not do this or that”. Only obstacle is transportation living in a small Colorado town.

How can one get involved in this sailing organisation? Used to sail when sighted.

seems like a "because I can" or "to prove I can" type of thing. Otherwise this is just as silly as blind people driving. It's unsafe and taps more resources than being safe would. I am also against things like seeing people driving 80 in the snow.
