Finally fueled up and we left port and meet up with them. I was oil king in charge of fuel. Took me two days to strip all my tanks to fill two tank to make to point of refueling we had a half of a service tank left. As far as I know we were the only ship to take on fuel straight into our service tanks so we could refuel all our tanks, that was back in the early 1970 's

I have been there a long time ago, couple of times. Once we were low on fuel ( almost) out, Palma wouldn't give use fuel cause the Russians were coming in. We shut everything down sat in the dark for a week, the island had armed guards on the pier so we're couldn't leave my ship. There was three hundred of us one a three hundred fifty foot ship. I stop spend holidays in europe many years ago but this island show i must not travel 3 times to asia per year.
