Same issue as SailAway. The terrain models are like flight sim 1998… When I'm near shore I want to see palm trees, vegetation, volcanoes, and monuments…

The price to this keeps increasing every 6 months, now it's on %15 sale but it is the same price as it was full price 6 months ago:))

Is it still worth forking out £28 + £9.29 for man overboard for it? The graphics and water details look really outdated. Maybe I should just go and to the RYA training instead:)

As of November 2021, which simulator do you think is best for teaching a complete novice the basics of sailing? eSail? Sailaway? Something else?

Hi, I had began to learn to sail.
There are details that one immediately see in this video. The view is a lot higher than a helmsman actually can see, i.e. a realistic view would be much closer to the surface.

E.g. it is very difficult to see a row boat which has dark colours.
1st day I was out (18 days ago), I was at the helm, and I was warned by a crew member that I was on a direct collision course with a row boat, some 200 meters away.

Turned the boat towards starboard to avoid it, which required a tack to get a good distance between our boat and the row boat.

I would had preferred an Android app as I'm not keen on maintaining a Windows system just because I only want to run one program (eSail).

I would happily buy an iPad just so I could use eSail (and other sailing apps).

Functionality looks interesting, but the graphics look like they're from a 90s arcade game! Is there anything out there that is worth buying in the way of sailing sims?

Is this better than Sailaway? Can you travel around the world with real distances and weather?
