Those bring your own bag places are fine but I never remember to do that , so I end up using those bags as garbage bags. That and the fact most everything in the store in wrapped in plastic . Get rid of plastic packaging . I remember when I was young the butcher wrapped the meat in paper . No problem. No need for plastic.
