CATS – Comfy, spacious and you pay more for it. Mono – more for "Sailers" going places and experiencing the enlightenment of feeling the wind and adjusting the boat. My choice – Amel Super Maramu! My significant other – CATS all the way! It use to be about a sailboat that can safely sail the 7 seas. Now, it is more about having the tools to get ahead of threats or just avoid them altogether while being super comfy. It is great to have more choices to fit your preferences.

I know this is late, but in our Spronk Cat built in St Kitts, we flew the windward centerboard down leeward board up. Make sense? If you start to fly a hull, the high side comes out of the water and you lose the tracking and the boat slides back into the water towards leeward. Also unlike monohulls you have to steer downwind if you start to fly a hull not upwind to dump the air out of the sail…
