I don't mind sailing to weather. I'm less likely to get seasick going upwind. Also, steering and sail-trimming seem more challenging and rewarding going upwind. Do it enough and you start to learn things. Like how more heeling isn't necessarily faster than easing the sheets a little and getting the right shape to the sails to generate the most forward progress. And it usually feels faster than running, even when it's not.
