Maya & Aladino: I happened upon your videos a while ago, about the time just prior to your announcing you bought a new boat! I had been watching each new episode and then realized that I could "catch up" by visiting the Channel and start from the beginning – which is what I did. At this point in time I am "with you" as you begin traveling the Rhone River. How exciting for ME as you ventured into Arles because I have traveled from my home in the Eastern U.S. and visited there (along with many other towns in France) over the years. Your commentary, the beautiful footage, the pace at which you travel and film, coupled with the beautiful music that accompanies each episode, is – in a word – FABULOUS. The dignity and respect that you show to one another AND to your audience is so evident and I, for one, appreciate it very much. Please continue just as you have been. I became enamored with CruisingTheCut; told my sister about it, then she said, you’ve started something! We’re going to rent a boat and cruise the French canals! Which brought me here and I’m so glad I stumbled onto it. This was an eye opener; especially when compared to the English canals. This is absolutely lovely. You’re a lucky couple, so I think I’ll follow this adventure of yours. Thanks very much;)

Here in the states, a popular boating pastime is the Great Loop which consists of the Mississippi River and the Great Lakes / Saint Lawrence Seaway. While commercial ships utilize the Saint Lawrence River between the Great Lakes and the high seas, most pleasure boats are able to transit on the Erie Cana & Hudson River between Buffalo & New York City. The only hindrances for sailboats are low bridges in the vicinity of Chicago and the Erie Canal. Other than that the lowest fixed bridges on the Mississippi River have a vertical clearance of 60 ft / 18 m.

The logbook entry date notation is a good way to establish time and place for the viewer since the videos are about 5-6 months behind your current day. No concerns here as I ‘m still catching up on your artistic presentations. Thanks very much!
