0:30 "not how to tie them" proceeds to show how to tie them, lol. Great video though, very useful and well presented
Incredible Video as always thank you so much what is the intro music
Another great and practical video
Great video
Jon Mendez is the GOAT.
Another superb 'how to video' I like these a lot, now I feel qualified enough to go and get knotted. 😁
As a novice I have watched a few videos on boats putting out fenders, they always seem to be secured to the outer handrails at the top of the rail, this makes me think that there is a lot of upper stress on the the lines with potential to damage the rails, would it not be better to tie fenders at the base on the vertical rails that support the horizontals?
When I was a Naval reserve. I was told to use a bowline if I ever got into trouble. I had to learn to use my left hand and then my right hand to do a bowline knot. It does not slip and could save your life if you got injured in the water and a single line was chucked to you.
Great video. Good tips. Well presented. 👍👍
Love these how to videos, keep them coming😊👌🏼
Jon always makes these things look really easy! These techniques need loads and loads of practice!
We need more of Jon Mendez 😃
I'm sure I'll get shot down here but I've always felt that a bowline is best when using a towing bridle. It allows the tow rope to traverse the bridle meaning there is always some force exerted on both end of the bridle. Using a sheet bend means there is only ever force on both ends when the towing line is pulling dead centre astern. Sheet bend is great if you need to extend the towing line.
Loved the video, and thanks for showing how to tie them as well!
Hi Jon, always love your videos. I've seen dozens of knot videos, but this one really brings home the application and use of them. Well done. Paul

Title of video: "How to tie 4 essential boating knots…"
Cheers Jon.
well done
I love watching these videos as I'm very new to boating
I use the double sheet bend for bosun's chair! Very safe and secure!
I thought it was really useful to show how to tie knots in context of use…
Really good video thanks
A round turn and two half hitches is a super knot…totally secure and can be tied really quickly.
One of the worst videos in this (excellent) series – yes, the focus is on the use of the knots, but the process of tieing them is shown wayyy too fast and not from enough angles by Jon.
Very well done, thanks for sharing
I'd like to thank Michael Caine's nautical cousin for presenting this very helpful video. 😀 Greetings from NYC!
