Sailing is for me about doing as little work as possible, relaxing and enyoing the ride. That means tounching a bottom and not having to struggle or exert myself trying to control the ship… so for me sailing is exactly about touching a bottum. I would want to pull no sheets or ropes or whatever…

About time you understood the visceral nature of sailing. Big boat or small boat, the feeling is very much the same as you trim the sails and you feel the boat surge, riding the waves in a way a motor boat/yacht will never make you feel.
