Trying to understand what separates russia from rest of the world. Spent last couple days watching 20th century timeline world event feeds, especially some long documentaries on cold war.. Have to say, every other documentary, there's something in the lines of: Allies vs Russians, The West vs Red Army, Free World vs Communist Regime.. and so, list goes on and on and on.. Where russia portrayed a bootleg runner up, causing trouble. every effort russian officials put up, immediately translated as rogue activity. was born in caucasus, remember people talk about counter terrorist missions in mid-east, a few long before 9/11.. 19 years this upcoming summer, living in US, especially since widespread emergence of internet, documentaries i see portray russia as a rogue state with no rights of its own. Was this a dominant historian/public opinion for most of 20th Century? Help me understand. Thank you.

A Great sadness overcame me after seeing this documentary. War, does it solve anything? It's 2023 and Russia fights again in the Crimea. Lord, will this never end? Save us from this folly.

I am the Standard Bearer for my local RE Association and every year, we hold a memorial parade for Captain Henry VC RA. He was bayonetted 12 times at Inkerman, but survived and finished his days at the Royal Citadel, Plymouth UK. He is buried at Ford Park cemetery and we honour him every year.

What terrible commentary at 47.20, so the nations that have been fighting for independence for centuries get blamed for ww1. The documentary makers have no idea. Typical imperial colonial viewing of the world (british perspective)

It was not a petty disagreement between the newly independent nations that caused ww1 but imperial austria and germany attacking small serbia

In the crimean war The brits basically went and murdered people half way around globe as they have done for centuries to protect there trade / slaving / raiding interest. This was not different.
