  1. It is so much better finished that a mass production yacht, no doubt reflected in the cost. Well worth it if you can afford it. Lend me a million?

  2. This very well may be the most incredible sailing boat I’ve ever seen. Thank you for sharing such a special experience with us Nick.

  3. You need to come up with a dictionary for all the terminology! Laseret’ ??? Lol the deep compartment in the rear? Love the videos!!!

  4. She is a most beautiful boat. It is nice to see craftsmanship of this level. Clearly, years of careful thought have been put into the design of these boats. I really like that, in all your videos, you ALWAYS open hatchescompartments carefully AND you always make CERTAIN that everything is secure before you move on. This shows me that you care about the safety and welfare of others. The level of detail in your videos is always exceptional. Great!

  5. Perhaps show us a poor boat that’s not been looked after and explain the mistakes they have made? Might be a good comparison video

  6. Although it's nice to see these sailing yachts, I really lack interest in them these days. I would love to see an in depth look at one of the Ellings I know we had a brief look at the e6 but it was just enough to wear my appetite so would love to see that in greater detail and also the e3 and e4.

  7. I noticed a lot of similarities between this discovery 48s and a southernly 480 is that a coincidence or a genuine connection between the two boats?

  8. With this boat you can cross any ocean, with 90% of the Motor-Yachts you can't do that. There are currently several German YouTube channels out there of young people who are doing a world-tour, incl. Atlantic- and Pacific-ocean crossing with sailboats of a similar size (but refitted by themselves and with much less money) – for example "Segeljungs" or "Blue Horizon" (def. worth checking them out). I'd prefer this Sail-Yacht before any multi million € Motor-Yacht. For living on a boat for 2+ years, a Sail-Yacht gives you much more comfort compared to any Motor-Yacht, much less costing and much more fun, since you can actual sail. Man… what a lovely Yacht.

  9. The solar installation on the bimini is absolutely terrible… 1. The fabric is shading the cells 2. flexible panels are not mounted flat 3. NEVER mount flexible panels directly in contact with the fabric (they get hot and yes the cause fires from time to time). 4. Most flexible panels have a short life span and need replacing rather quickly.. (Max 2 years)

Otherwise.. great boat! Unfortunately their ability to install electrics come into question when they install solar like this..

  10. It's a wet August evening, I have £0 to spend on anything other than essentials, but I'd love to live on this boat sailing wherever the whim took me- thanks Nick – buying Lotto ticket 1st thing!

  11. all that wasted space in the living qtrs – would have opted for another berth or larger galley – who sits on a seat in the bedroom?

  12. “A stunning piece of kit”. I just love this guys turn of phrase. “Maggie the baggie”. Hilarious. You just can’t beat the British sense of humour. Great boat reviews too. Thank you for these creations.

  13. That is one seriously nice boat. The Distant Shores couple, Paul and Sheryl Shard, used to own one and especially their sailing videos from anchorage to anchorage in very shallow water, which they could access at all because of those lifting keels, really are the perfect commercials for Discovery. Now they are building a custom aluminium explorer monohul at a high end shipyard in the Netherlands, which brings me to the one gripe with this boat: It is so high end build quality and priced, that you could save money buying a same length Garcia, Alubat Ovni or an Allures 51.9 (build by Garcia), in high grade marine aluminium. Especially the Allures is every bit as luxurious inside too. It is just a small gripe though, because this boat is fantastic, also obviously proven solid blue water cruisers and the deck saloon design is just incredible. It essentially ends the need of a dog house, as on Amel or Boreal, for steering the boat in bad weather conditions, because you have perfect look out positions in the central accommodation. I only like one monohul more than this in fact, and that is the Sirius 40DS, but that one is also obviously smaller and even still quite a bit more expensive.
