I know I'm a bit late, and being a bit pedantic, but you do not have "right of way" when sailing (9:50). I assume you actually know this and it's just a phrase, but noob sailors watch sailing vlogs, and they may latch on to a catchy phrase like that to disastrous consequence. There is simply no "right of way", only "give way" and "stand on" vessels. "Stand on" vessels never have a "right of way" as they are still required to avoid collision. And just to be pedantic to the point of absurdity, "stand on" is an obligation, not a right. So by giving way when you are the stand on vessel you are blatantly disobeying the only rules which could give any hint of a "right of way". Of course, altering course early to be extra safe at sea is fine seamanship, but the wording "right of way" may encourage other people to make poor decisions.
