you know what the first verse reminded me of? OG Justin Timberlake. late 2000’s R&B tinged pop. the chorus is so good, her vocal style is so mature and sensual, it’s like Zella Day’s newer stuff. what a good melody. Lush was great, but each song here stands out each in their own funky, psychedelic, indie-rock way, much, much more compared to Lush, which was great, but each song just sounded the same to me. not the mention the undefeated songwriting here. masterful. what a journey. ironic, yeah, but i love Valentine. :-)
