Cool video, with lots of excellent points, nicely shot. I had the same conclusion while ago, I want to add, that "film effect" is a spectrum and it depends what kind of analog format one wants to achieve, and what is the end goal, whether it is for Instagram or print for an exhibition. In my experience it is rather easy to get the old black-and-white analog effect and "lomo analog", it gets a little harder with the "35mm" vibe and the real challenge comes with imitating clean, contemporary photo look of "large format" like Mamiya or Hasselblad, because here adding flares, hair, gradient, and grain just won't cut it. Exposure and balance are fundamental. But hey, I love your bottom line about photography being fun, and about freedom of expression. PS: I've been trying to look up these "editing wizards", but I don't hear names properly and Google image did not show them as well, can someone write it for me?

I'm curious as to what film conversion software and or light panel you're using, it's possible that it might be affecting the color of the "ambient tones" you speak of. For me I figured out that the light panel I was using caused much of that bluish cast over my film scans. Bluish tints are always going to be there during blue hour (obvs) and much of that can be neutralized with the temp control and "mids,highs and shadows" like you mentioned are a lot easier to fix in Negative lab pro. But for me the culprit was my light panel. Hope this might be useful for the community.

Hi Braxton, I really like your thoughts about art and opinion, do what you like to do with your art, etc. This is really a tolerant manner we need more and more especially in these times where not many but too much people mixing up an opinion with an inadequate agressive or even violent communication in social media.
