Amazing design. Forward cockpit with the safety of an interior helm beats the hell out of hanging out in the back of the boat on a night passage. Finally, an improvement over sailboats that all have the same lackluster 19th Century interiors. Sail handling from the front cockpit on this cat will be a huge improvement over running forward to lower sail in bad weather. Kudos to the designers!

The bottom line is the performance that it's capable of, which is not mentioned. It's claustrophobic for a cat of this length, so it better be fast because the trade off wouldn't be worth it, IMO. And by fast I mean over 20kts..

with that degree of hull-narrowing, I'd want that thing to be able to reach 20 knots in 20 knots of wind without batting an eyelid, otherwise not for me. and also, I’d want it to move at 5 knots in 5 knots of wind

Nice cat – but…. has anyone of you forward-cockpit fans ever been in bad weather with waves even going over the saloon roof? Plus not everything is in the front – the traveler is not. Not a great setup IMO. And who builds a boat without hand rails on the saloon roof? Meh. Does not really seem all that thought through.

Some interesting ideas, particularly the variation of a forward cockpit, but lots of details that seem less than great. Chris White designs are much better.

To make the "electric propulsion" actually reliable this cat needs 2+ times the present solar array otherwise all it is is a big while elephant coastal cruiser that needs larger diesel fuel tankage for running the diesel genset. Jordan, to say that the electric propulsion will have limited use is just unrealistic unless the vessel will only be used under ideal wind forecasts. If that is the case what will be its use. The only offset for that is employing a full time wind charting service & following those prevailing winds. Electric propulsion is great for relatively calm conditions where either maneuvering in squall conditions is not required or where the vessel is not becalmed. The vessel's solar array has a limited generation potential so its appliannce use needs to be sized accordingly. The position of the mast step has already limited the available sail area when compared to a more conventional rig. The price point is "jaw dropping" given the footprint.

Unless I'm missing something seems like 8 solar panels are sparse for an "all electric" sailing vessel unless you plan on running the genset a bunch. It is priced in the same space as massively solar paneled "power cats". Interior spaces are designed more as "pods" for cooking or Navigating or whatever else & not particularly pleasing,
