Prevent metal to metal and salt water contact ?
Krown rust protection works well , it even seeps up hill due to capillary properties . Check out Britannica Restorations on Youtube where Mike fixes Landrover issues and loves Krown and Jameson's ! This probably would stink out a yacht interior though .

You meet some lovely people in really nice places ! This was superb though .
