7. So very glad your hand is OK, on so many levels. You are very lucky to have captured the "slow motion" we all experience when we mess up. I travel with my dog, and a must buy is Quick Clot. It comes in a liquid tube and available through many sights. I witnesses an emergency with someone else, where a paw was bloody. I have a tube in every emergency kit. One night I bumped my head, so bad, it would not stop, and Quick Clot saved the night.

So I think you may have learned your lesson thank God that was not a phantom line drone as a person that's had the phantom three and four the Maverick mini one and two the parrot Disco the DJI inspire one the typhoon the typhoon q500 I would strongly consider getting a heavier drone like the phantom 4 and put the water landing gear on or you can take your drone and upgrade it to have the water landing system your drone is too light for heavy winds but if you want to fly in heavy winds the phantom 4 will be your best friend not to mention you can have it carry your fishing line out for you and drop it hey stuff happens

10. My wife cut her hand really deep when catching our drone off the boat in Greece. On our honeymoon. What I’ve learned is to use a beach towel to throw over it — when the props sense the resistance they shut off and your hands stay safe. It leads to early wear and tear on the drone motors, but I prefer that to a medical bill!

12. I’ve seen some people attach a short stick to the underside of the Drone. So they grab the stick when retrieving it.

17. I feel your pain. I'm a professional drone pilot and I have a sailboat. The only drone I will attempt to catch while sailing is the Phantom 4 Pro. The landing gear make it a lot easier and the video it produces is still good.
