  1. Iv seen a few boats mostly Lagoon's with this problem, we wanna buy a Lagoon but the more we see the more we go, mmm? If we buy a Lagoon I'll have to brace myself in case of when this sorta thing happens? Anyway it's a heads up. Glad u was able to get on top of it, great video

  2. I don't know if you guys follow Parlay Revival, but they dealt with a similar situation. Maybe the videos they filmed can be of assistance to you. Just a thought.

  3. Great job Ben fixing the boat. I love the determination. I'm just wondering if fixing the floors would also fix the bow in the boat.

  4. Thanks Ben for the encouraging words, now and again it is needed mostly for no fault of oneself… kudos on you for fixing your boat and pushing through the dark times.

  5. Godspeeds , having said that following rotting balsa core in a cat like yours is tedious to say the least , having said that the best way to fix it is to follow it and replace the balsa with a mix of clean sawdust and resin , it's heavier but much stronger than any foam , the reason you don't buy wooded cored expensive boats is just that , you buy foam cored or solid

  6. Having studied aerospace engineering and materials science since the early 1980s, THIS SHOULD NOT EVER BE HAPPENING NOR HAPPEN TO ANYONE EVER AGAIN!!!

Seriously: We actually totally, thoroughly, and incontrovertibly eradicated ALL these problems some 50 years ago. If your post-1970's boat is falling apart, SUE THE BASTARDS for either FAILING or REFUSING to implement the very large number of longevity measures we provided the industry back then.

  7. We have been so inspired by you guys, your work ethic, candid story telling and drive. Boatlife! All you can do is get the tools out and move on. Cheers! ⛵️🇨🇦🍻

  8. Hello and sorry for the problems you guys are encountering with your Catamaran. Water leaks are core rot is never a good thing. We are experiencing some similar problems with our project boat. You are correct it's just work and everything is repairable. Thickened epoxy and fiberglass is our new friends. That's crazy you have to leave the marina to do some of the work then come back. We'll hang in there and measure your progress in small wins along the way. We wish you luck and hope you have a wonderful day .

  9. You give sage advice for facing difficult situations and focusing on the positive in Life and the need for Positivity. Thank you for sharing your beautiful Spirit. We all wish you well and will continue to follow your progress. Fair Winds and Following Seas are in your future with Nahoa carrying you forward..

  10. Great explanation on reason repairing the bridge deck might address the problem. I can only assume you have now built in the sag of the bridge deck. Also in many shots it appears that the rot went down into the hull possibly to the top of the escape hatch or somewhere else. The video did not show any remediation of rot in that area. Did you fix it. I

  11. Brilliant video. So positive and encouraging. I'm going through a rough patch right now and your video gave me the push I needed to stride forward with confidence.
Also Ashley's hair looks beautiful and healthy. I love the colour. Plus I can't get enough of your cute children, just precious!

  12. Welcome to the world of lite-weight, roomy, "hi-performance" catamarans. For a million +, you get all of that and more. Just don't expect it to last very long. All the space, lite-weight, and speed comes at a price. If you want one that will last, they do exist, but now we're talking real money – as in about $2.5 million for a Garcia 52.

  13. You two (plus two) are fabulous! Rolling over and giving up just isn’t in your vocabulary. Thank you for the inspiration. ❤

  14. Hello Ben, & Ashley, I hate to say this but I'm not sure you have repaired all the delamination in your boat. Have you taken her out for a sea trial sail to see if you have stopped all the movement in the separated and delaminated wall joints that appeared in your videos? If you haven't already seen sea trialed Nahoa, it is necessary you do so before you continue on your trip around the world. Just worried about you and your family. Please don't continue your trip before you have a good sea trial. Make sure you have stopped the wall movement in the wall joint seperations. Just make sure your fix was successful before you continue.

  15. Hi Friends, Ben I noticed at least 4 screws drilled thru the cockpit drains when you took off the grates, that is where the leaks are coming from. Never drill thru a wet area like that for anything. Use resin and glass to fasten something or at least use a butyl type of sealent on top of the screw and be sure to check its seal regularly. Things are looking up CHEERS AND FAIR WINDS Steve h.
