Stop buying crappy Lagoons! Old 44’s, 450’s and more have structural problems as only glued and not bonded properly!
We had a Switch 51 for 13 years, zero problems nor any major works!

We also had two terrible nights in Soller. High winds roar down from the mountains every night, it seems. Lots of boats dragging anchor, and a 52 Lagoon, a charter boat hit us. We hadn't thought of putting out fenders at anchor before–but now realize that it's necessary given the poor skills of charter boat sailors. BTW, we anchored near you at Campulongu (Southern Sardinia). We're on SV JOLI (Canada). Now in Malta–if you haven't been here yet–it's a must-see!

Better safe than sorry going to the marina. And watch for dangerous third parties. They should install some moorings there. About the inspection, I believe it is a good thing as they can prevent any trouble as seen in the 450.
