Dude!!! Just make segmented guide rails on both panes and a removable stop that limits travel to the right. Pull the stop, slide the panes to full-travel right (where the segmented guide rails can slip thru gaps in the frame guide rails) then yank the windows in. The empty window frame will now be your escape hatch.

Sorry for your loss MP the hole will always be there. You guys do so good. I did not replace everything,you are. I have had things (chart plotter) and other (autohelm) stop working in the Atlantic and had to hand steer for 36 days. REPLCE or refurbish everything . Peace of hope to cross paths one day.
