You don't need a clamp on the push on fittings if they are sucking fluids (vacuum) only if you are pushing fluids that are under (pressure)

OMG! You have brought me back to the stuff I need to be concerned about on my trawler. Your setup is similar to mine, an on mine, everything has been running perfectly. and I have checked all the gauges regularly, but not all connections, hoses packing, etc. I am close to you (Stockton, CA) and will be heading out under the GG Bridge in a week or so. I like the idea of, and need to get the LED lights in the engine room!
