Very simular to captain currey lock spike knifeq

The lock is the hanging loop, depends on position, weatherocked or unlocked. Usad in uk military.

Bosun, deckhand and captain very tough tool.

thanks for the review, very essential and useful tool in my opinion. I wonder why you don't have something similar on your issued SAR vest instead of the fixed blade knife?

Not this one, because it has some shortcomings: The blade is not opening one handed, which would be really useful when in the water and holding on the boat with the other hand. The blade is also not locking, which is dangerous when you accidentally hit the line with the wrong side of the blade in rough seas. The shackle key is too wide at the narrow end for smaller shackles and will slip a lot. The "pry bar" is a bit too short, a bit too thick and blocked by the outside liners to be useful and it's also blocking the narrow side of the shackle key – besides that it's also a nice screwdriver which is very handy.

When those problems are fixed, it would be a must have item for every sailor.
