  1. Was wondering where you've been. I looked just yesterday to see if I missed you. Thanks Alan and you and Mrs Rover and Speckles stay safe and healthy 🙏

  2. Fantastic job on the house Alan, incredible work rate. I’m sure Ms. Rover is busy with her plans for the finishing touches.

Have you changed plans with building a timber mast as oppose to sourcing a aluminium lamp-post type? I’m kinda glad because it can be built anywhere in the world if you have issues.

  3. Glad to see you back! I left you a thought as late as yesterday wondering if I’d missed some videos or what has happened. Are you going for a wooden mast if I got it right, why? Instead of aluminum or carbon fiber, will it be as strong and light? And, why having two berths on a solo circumnavigator?

  4. Sir have you thought of Finding a Use Carbon Fiber Mast for Wave Rover? How will the mast work? Roll up sail around Mast or stander way?

  5. Don’t push it. Thats pretty ambitious. Better to wait a year than put to sea before you’re ready. Remember Crowhurst. Good to see you back.

  6. I’m loving The whole Wave Rover story! You are saying the circumnavigation. Are you planing a full world circumnavigation or another Atlantic round trip?

  7. Hello from Ontario Canada! You do have a very aggressive timeline but the consequences of missing it are the delay of another year so crack on with it!
I didn’t mind the break, knowing you were occupied with the house project.
Looks great, can’t wait to see how fast the boat comes together now !
    Cheers-
    Aaron

  8. Hopefully when you cross the Atlantic, Ireland will be on the list for a possible landfall. If so you’ll get a great welcome. Roll on 2023.

  9. Glad you took my advice and got some apprentice help on WaveRover. Mrs. Rover comes first and I'm sure you have it all in hand. Take time for yourself too ..don't burn yourself out trying to be all things to all men. All the best..

  10. Great to see you again on video Alan! It sure has been a busy summer, but probably the best I've had yet, helping you build your house. I'm looking forward to seeing your boat-building videos again, and am really excited for you regarding your upcoming sailing trip next year! Would love to go on a trip like that sometime!

  11. This is awesome! And quite a schedule! With your expertise I don't doubt it a bit.

BTW thanks again for the videos of the keels! My keels will be built with same manner but lot bigger of course. And they will be asymmetric as well.

Looking forward to see all the work and details and of course – the sea trials!

    Thanks!

    :Panu

  12. Well you lazy bum! ALL you did was build a house! That’s ALL. And now ALL you are doing is finishing building a boat to cross oceans. That’s all and you have to have it ready to GO by June. That’s ALL. Wow. You are absolutely amazing. Rock On!!! (No pun intended).

  13. Nice house. Considering where you live I'm a little surprised you didn't put in fireplace or at least a wood-burning stove. As to your mast, I thought you were going to use an aluminum light pole. The excitement never ends.
