9. You know, there are stories in the Bible recounting Jesus and his disciples in boats encountering wind and waves and storms. The Bible also teaches after we live and die there will be judgement. Whatever storms we go through in this life will be peanuts compared to what’s to come. Unless…

   Most people would say that they’ve been good enough to get into heaven. Would you pass the test? Let’s take a quick look!

   1. How many lies have you told in your whole life?
   2. Have you ever stolen anything no matter how little the value?
   3. Ever had lust for someone who wasn’t your spouse or sex outside of marriage?
   4. Ever used the Lords name in vain (like OMG)?

   These are just a few of the 10 Commandments and if you answered yes to these questions that would make YOU like the rest of US. And being judged by God’s standards, would you be innocent or guilty? Heaven or hell? The 10 Commandments are God’s moral law and we’ve all broken them.

   The Bible says the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23) which means we have all EARNED death (hell). But the free gift of God is eternal life. Because of God’s love for you, he has provided a way to heaven (1 Timothy 2:4). He sent his son Jesus Christ to pay our penalty. Jesus lived a sinless life, died on the cross for our sins (1 John 2:2) and rose bodily from the grave three days later defeating death, giving us life. Jesus took the punishment we deserve on the cross (1 Peter 2:24). If we believe and put our trust in Him we too can have eternal life in heaven (Acts 16:31). Repent (which means turn from your sins and not live the life of a hypocrite) and TRUST Jesus today!

10. a cool platform to build on and worth it – assume/ hope it was low cost although these days all cats overpriced. Id get it on the hard asap – full survey (diy or pay depending on your knowledge), make a plan and a budget etc. ugly but Id go with a tarp over windows or it risks keep draining your time and fixes may make it worse or harder to repair. Anyway very best of luck with it – fun project. Though it sucks the fun out when family need the same space – can you not live on the old boat a while longer?

18. I don’t want to complain but it seems to me that you expected there to be a lot of fixing needed but now it sounds like you are complaining. A positive attitude and celebrating the small victories will make the whole thing more fun – for you and for us.

22. Pretty cool I have always loved the look of the older Privileges and excited to see how you tackle the refit. They seem to built better than the majority of other cats. Curious how they would sail with the idea of taking a considerable amount of weight off thru technology like diy lithium, dump the generator, synthetic rigging etc. Even getting rid of holding tanks minus a small one for compliance, converting to 48v system for wire diameter reduction, should significantly reduce weight/complexity. Good luck and absolutely great choice in my opinion.

23. Oh god it is a PROJECT. Just make a list and start work. Im sure the price was reflected in its condition. Get to work and enjoy the process.

24. Love your new boat. Get it out of the water and inspect hulls and through hulls. sail to a place that you can get all the parts needed to replace windows and fix hatches. Lots of things gonna need fixed. I hope you got a good deal on it.

    If you were able to make a cable to a switch for that windlass. And you want a remote up front… Get a plastic project box, a switch of similar type (Mometary) and some long wire and make your own remote control. At this point you know the system and wiring… Easy Peazy Button press-ezy…

    I have rewired systems that just had a blown fuse or a corroded connector. I have assembled things backwards more times than I can remember and have searched for the source of a leak for weeks if not months.

    Keep on keeping on it will all work out and be a great adventure and thanks for letting us follow along.
