Just discovered this channel . Great job refitting the boat ! Perhaps too great as she now sits several inches below her designed waterline, as shown in one of the earlier episodes . Island Spirit 38's are well known here in Phuket as they are very much intended for short term coastal bareboat chartering .
The overloading might explain some of the awful slapping and twisting she suffered in heavy weather as the bridgedeck clearance was reduced as well as the sluggishness encountered in light airs when the boat has to push through more water than she was designed for .
Anyway, Kudos for both the refit and for undertaking the adventure !

Hi Family, great sail, really enjoy the fishing, most sailing channels just sail not much fishing, but u lot get right into it it's awesome. That sushi look yummy, nice presentation mum. Great job on the big bandaid on the front port side Corrin well done. Those fuel water separator are a must have, but u have got to drain them, or change filters, I know the damage bad fuel and water do to an engine, I'm a mechanic and I'm always advising people to put them in or I just do it anyway and often get feedback saying thanks so much for putting them in, as they've seen the junk they save from stuffing up their engines. But people can be lazy and not clean or empty them. Present company excluded Anyway thanks for sharing always look forward to ur episodes.
