The back end of a pickup has no mass and when partially submerged at the boat ramp is buoyant lifting the rear axle and tires up to diminish traction (when you need it most. Don’t put anything more than the bumper into the water and put people into the bed at the very rear, use low gear four wheel (preferably with the differential locked). Remember to use the chain on the hitch and extra long mooring lines with a pole to guide the boat. The winch must be attached to the bow pad eye and under tension. (Be certain the the winch cable is in good condition) OR, go to a marina with a Travel Lift and pay to launch the boat…novice captain…..
