Word of advise – Tunisia is a Muslim country and walking through the local market with bare shoulders and a strap top could very easily upset people. Not sure all the excitement in the market was ‘positive’ – I am Christian, but have lived (and sailed) in the Middle East for more than 15 years and I am a big believe in showing respect for local culture, religion and customs as a guest in someone country. Tunisia is relatively ‘modest’ – you could get in more serious problems in other parts of the Muslim world (other parts of Africa, Middle East and Asia) – please take this as a friendly word of advise !
