I'm from London and there's such a small chance of having your bike stolen, it must have been because your lock was not good enough. With a D-lock the chances are very low, there's so many bikes to choose from. It's a London thing. I had a Brompton for years, they do hold up well but are quite pricey. There's a shop in Battersea that is their own outlet, hope you get one, they are good when space is really limited.
