That's a pretty cool sailing dinghy. Might not be super convenient, but love the option of not needing a motor! We've thought about getting something like that until we find our next boat! LOL! Thanks for sharing!

I assume you will be sailing most of the time , did not see the motor option .
Cool fun for the owner and kids , as a tender ? StS ?
Maybe an electric one powered from your panels . Apart from the skipper , how many in the boat ? How far to go ? How fast ?
Speak to the guys that are building your boat :-) Ask them what will fit and work . A design change now is fairly easy , later , not so , more expensive ! yes , I get redundancy , you have a diesel motor . The wind has its vagaries , twin hull , 8 seater 2 small electric motors fed from their own battery , charged while travelling , in emergency , clip on a small out board .

Watching the effort to get this dingy ready to sail reminds me of folks who want to start RVing and start with a pop up. OMG….no thank you. Does it look like fun? Of course, but I think the way you guys use your dingy this would end up being a big hassle and clumsy. Also seems very light. Scary to me when you guys go scuba diving trying to get off and on that thing. Now maybe having an electric motor that you would use most of time and the sail as a back up…..MAYBE, but not for me. Just more stuff to take care of.
