For me it has nothing to do with any of that environmental nonsense. Its about the practical reality that solar on a boat is a no nonsense, quiet, no smells, no mess, means of getting ample power to run vital systems no matter where you are.

I've always thought these are intriguing. I'm not a fan of the Euro styling. Frankly the interior is ugly. I know a lot of people will disagree but I think that will be a hill for them to climb in the US market. Also, people keep comparing these to Trawlers. Evidence is that they are not much more efficient than a Trawler in doing an ocean crossing – but that isn't how yachts are used. Hopping from island to island they will be much more efficient. Since it is low you could do a US Great Loop in one of these using almost no diesel fuel. Or you could be as efficient as a Trawler crossing from the Mississippi to the Florida Keys then a lot more efficient from The Keys to Trinidad. But still – I wouldn't want to get up every day and feel like I'm in an Ikea showroom.
