The pirate trick for veggies,
fish and more
is fill a jar w/ vinegar
for a 6-12 month store.
Layer garlic, onion, jalo&ginger,
nori&a little kelp is cool,
then big chunks of fish,
repeat veggies til the jar is full.
And with a final ring of onion
floating on the vinegar,
screw down the lid tight
for your 3-12 month jar.
The fish will cook inside there
and taste great later on.
The veggies keep their crisp&color.
It works like a charm.
It makes a safe sashimi
or a stirfry base and goes pretty far.
Now here's a pirate's secret;
you don't need store bought vinegar!
A bit of bad fruit in water,
let it soak in a tight jug for a week,
and you'll have your pirate's vinegar,
and no more will old fish
make your crew shorts leak.
