PROPA NOASTRĂ PLIANTĂ S-A DEZSTRAT… DIN NOU!!! Ep 287

A spare prop might be good. Well done. Patients

  • Mike K

This is when Josh. Tips and tricks for ya. You should of have made awhile back a breathing hose with an easy light spring check valve on the top end. Zip tied up top on the rail. For emergencies like this one. A must have on the boat for all sailors. 🧐👍👍

  • Tibor Kiss

are you sure your propshaft is straight?

  • Martin Aston

Obviously a cheap brand very poor quality device , as the saying goes «  you always get what you paid for «  false economy while putting your family at risk , get rid of that one and if you are hell bent in having a folding prop go for a reputable brand

  • Sail

I had an Autoprop on my last boat. Constantly had problems. Those props are just a problem waiting to happen. Changed to a Maxprop and no issues. So when we purchased our Valiant 40 I swapped the fixed blade for a Maxprop. Haven't had any prop issues regarding this boat as well.

  • Dude Leboski

Well Yosh, thank goodness it didn’t happen mid winter down Tazzie way. Even worse, Melbourne.

  • Dude Leboski

Mate, just out of curiosity, could that job not be done with a snorkel extension?

  • Relaxing Nature

The video opened with you complaining ..You live in the tropics ..stop complaining ….brutal winter is getting ready to smash us here in Canada ..at least you are not trying to fix it in -40c below weather

  • Don Coxe

Hey Yosh – DON'T give Bonita a tarp as a gift! Yeah she's awesome and the best partner for you imaginable, but … that'd be a big mistake!

  • CK H

THAT PROP DESIGN IS FATALLY FLAWED. REFUND?

  • Dale D

Best place to find a problem! Good seas & safe travels!!!

  • Ken Whit

I admire your improvisation skills and ability to have a go under difficult & variable circumstances. All we have to do now, is work harder at having to not having to use those skills, with improved planning. Comment made in good will. Go kindly you lot.

Could you have put her on the beach and waited for the tide to go out?

  • Gram Schweikert

We pulled our autoprop in the Galapagos for the same loose blade issue. We discovered that the threading on the radial axel that the blade rotated around had been machined non-axially such that you couldn't thread the crown nut on properly. Somehow it had been fine like that for almost 10 years and then suddenly the blade was loose. Our locking bolts were still in place with no issues. We didn't have the brunton prop puller and had to try to fabricate one with a very simple hardware store and a welder as our only resources. Certainly never could have done it without scuba as it took us 3 days to get the prop off the boat. Good luck

  • LOUIS gr

Well done on the prop congratulations on that not a easy job and you keep so calm

  • Ian Price

Such a giant drag that thing broke on you so quickly!

  • Sheree Willems

Legends, you sorted it. Crap maybe we need a spare prop in spares!

  • John Lelli

Owning a house? Get a ladder… owning a boat? Get full scuba gear…. lol. Hope to meet you guys in KBL in January. Oh… considering the problems you have with the folding prop…. get a fixed one again. Lol. Sorry, cant resist. John

  • Victor Vos

why you do not invest in some basic scuba materials? that good help you enorme.

  • Sailing SV Marilyn Kaye

Guys what a pain in the bum, with that prop. I had a 2 folding Gori propeller on our Catalina and touch wood had no problems with it. Hope you get it sorted.

  • Russell Neville

Well done Josh. Most impressed with job done. My breath hold is shit so watching you tackle that job the way you did really got me thinking on what I need to do to improve my breath hold. Good job. Keep up the good work 👍

this seems to be a pretty common breakdown for the Bruntons Auto prop – I can think of four other YouTubers that have had the same of a very similar issue. No thanks, reliability is a key consideration.

  • Bruce McDougall

job done! leave fixed prop on forget the race pro, simple is best.

  • robert carkeek

Hats off to you for being so patient and good humored about these parts failures. You deserve a bunch of hugs ❤

  • jay tee

Could you not tape four foot of hose onto your snorkel for shallowish work?

  • Steve Eggert

Love the way you and Bonita have can do attitudes and patients to accomplish just about any task at hand. Of course with support of cutest first mate, Talula Mae, how could you go wrong! Thanks for sharing. All the best…

  • R90/6

perfect assembly….and taking 'folding prop' OFF my list…….chuck that mess into the MUD…..

  • Bryon Ensminger

You should look into one of those small compressors that are made to pump breathing air for cleaning the bottom , they have a portable compressor about 50 ft of air line and a mask you can get the whole kit from Amazon for around $500 dollars American 💸 punch in that you want an underwater boat matinance breathing compressor kit , it comes with the compressor 50 ft of hose and a dive regulator and runs on 12 volts

  • Karl Mabe

Will try and hold my breath that long.
Good underwater filming aswell. No washer togo with prop nut?

  • Garry Gill

Sorry for repeats of issues with prop. Carry a spare? I saw an idea a cruiser used while working with small parts under water. Get a cheap folding umbrella and hang it under whatever your working on to catch things that may drop in murky water. Not sure how the umbrella holds up over time with salt water exposure but may be easier then the tarp setup. Job well done!

  • SV Impavidus

Mate get in touch with us. Something is wrong somewhere we have had 3 boats and on all 3 we have fitted Brunton Autoprops with no issues over long periods. We have just done 1500 miles at the end of a long season on our H2 Autoprop again no issues in 3 years. There is somthing not adding up if your getting the same issue over and over… Ant, SV Impavidus.
