Happen to now be in Florida near the Ft. Lauderdale Boat Show, if you think that Annapolis is crazy, it is near impossible to get near the boats here. If the traffic does not deter you the parking will.

I wouldn't call it chaos. The crowds were very manageable all through the show. With Monday being the best by far!! With the exception of Thursday when it rained, and everything was wet – including the carpets under the tents – it was sunny. Very pleasant. Also, I had a different view of the water than Chris. I thought it was ok.
On Monday, at the end of the day, I took a Schooner cruise on the Chesapeake for 55 bucks. We averaged 9 knots and hit 11 knots on a few occasions. I enjoyed it!! During the duration the captain was standing on his seat for visibility purposes. I had wondered on some of those Biminis on the boats on display at the show on how they saw the sails while under sail. And the amount of metal needed to keep them up was aesthetically unpleasant.
