It’s way past time you began using battery drills for driving screws and tightening bolts (for tapping threads into hole buy a set of Gun Nose Taps and Dormer cutting fluid). Use the tension clutch for uniform torque. Thanks good to see Polyurethane foam being used. I have a severe condensation problem under the deck right over where all of the radios and instruments are housed. It’s like a rainforest in that space, I can’t believe professional boat builders thought that was quality work (20 years ago). I’ll copy your technique. I have to re silicone my saloon windows, too. I’m not going to completely remove them, just dig out the silicone around the edge. I’ve been thinking of methods to rough up the gell coat to give better adhesion and am going to try a diamond coated blade on the vibratory saw to get a fine cut down inside a grove.

You can apply, either professionally or by yourself, a layer of clear paint protection film on the windows, then they will also be scratch resistant.

Should have used Butyl rubber for ALL sealing applications. It is also near UV proof unlike silicone.
