With Jamaica it's geared towards Americans with fat Bank balances. And no one else because they think the "keribean" is their back yard and not independent Island states. I'm a Jamaican and believe me we are warm welcoming hard working hospitable people. BUT the govt do nothing to welcome ordinary travelers and cruisers. Don't let the beaurocracy grind you down. The govt have sold off all the public beaches save one to foreign hotel chains who only want spanish looking employees and not regular jamaican workers. The gvt are actively trying to gentrify my homeland for the needs of rich foreigners. Who just want to own a home theyll stay in maybe a couple weeks of the year….And it hurts me in a way you could never imagine.
