I know zero about anything marine, but in the world of land motors they work better when they are run regularly. Lots of diesel trucks out there with over 500k miles with nothing but regular oil changes.
I would think running your engine a few hours per week would be a good thing. Is it any different in the salt water world?

I took my ASA 101,103 and 104 certification in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. It's amazing sailing! You will want to spend at least a couple days in tabago kays, and bequia is great. Pick up a ball in port Elisabeth for a few days.

Yeah, Iron Jib is there for more than ballast, turn the key and get to where you’re going. It’s an unplanned move, why add to the situation… get to where you’re headed, dot the T’s cross the I’s, set up camp and leisure sail when you can enjoy it
