My goodness Steve you were really thorough with that Oyster Guy. Great questions and a tough review. But you represented the sailing community well. Most interesting area was the use of electric power v hydraulic! Thank you.

Hmmm. Not so sure about the superiority of hydraulic over electric. The fact is, in the last 20 years more and more large cargo ships are using electric mooring winches, where they used to have hydraulic only. Benefits of no hydraulic lines that can corrode etc. are valid. And with proper electric protection you get an easy, very linear and powerful integration... Pros and cons, vs, single preference bias.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, of course, but my own opinion is that you're overstating the advantages of a single skeg hung rudder as a "requirement" for a bluewater boat. You realize that just about every catamaran has twin, non-skeg rudders, right? None of them are suitable for crossing oceans? Plus, you know the vast majority of £10M-£50M+ world cruising superyachts by some of the most respected builders in the world like Baltic, Swan, Royal Huisman, Pendennis, Perini Navi, and yes, Oyster, are being built with twin and/or non-skeg hung rudders, right? None of them are suitable to cross oceans and go to remote areas? These are designed by some of the best naval architects in the world - you think they are all choosing to build unsafe boats? I think we'd be hearing about it if the largest sailing yachts in the world, who cross oceans all the time, were all having issues - and I doubt the best designers would keep doing it if rudders were falling off these yachts all the time. I think maybe a fair argument is that skeg>non-skeg but I'd argue that 2 rudders>1 rudder (redundancy if one gets damaged) - so maybe the ideal is 2 skeg hung rudders, which I'm not sure exists?!? Otherwise, it's plusses and minuses. Look, we all get that you are a big fan of Kraken, but honestly your videos are starting to feel a little like Kraken marketing pieces (remind us, have you disclosed any kind of financial relationship with Kraken or its owners?). This film felt a little like an Oyster ambush where you clearly had an agenda to promote. Again, fully respect your right to offer your opinion - but it's just that, your opinion. And that opinion is clearly not shared by many of the world's top naval architects, designers, and boat builders.

Totally agree on the twin rudders giving more interior space vs. safety - a trade off I would not wanna make on a blue water boat. Also Amel has the twins for the same reason .
