					<description><![CDATA[Owned two Catalinas, no hull problems, lead, not iron keel and the boat was not built for the charter market.  My 42 would do circles around around a Bene 44 in speed..  I do like thick the layout of Bene and Jens, but only in a two cabin layout / two head lay out. Also, no Sail Drive on Catalinas which are are a nightmare to service and can sink a boat very quickly if damaged.  I would take either, but would fell safer on the Cat.  Blend the two together, no we are talking.  Also Cat&#039;s do not have any exterior wood, good luck with your teak deaks in ten plus years.  Iron keel, teak decks are no bueno, other brands to chose from.]]></description>

So, cheaper to live with compared to the 46.1, right? &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;445 has a lead keel.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Plumb bows are neutral in buoyancy. Combine that with a wide flat hull and you’ll be driving waves over the boat in rough water when heeled over, much more than the Catalina “old fashion” increasing buoyancy bow. This is becoming more evident in recent videos of boats with plumb bows and the foredeck being wet. &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;I’ve seen both interiors. Catalina is much nicer. I like the warmer tones.
