Aventura solo prin Everglades pe o mică barcă cu pânze

Încerc să navighez cu micul meu catamaran către cheile din Florida, dar ajung în schimb să merg în Everglades. 1. Very cool Mr. Holmes. I've never been in the Everglades but I live in Central Florida and I've done lots of small island camping in the Banana and Indian rivers back in the 90's when I lived in Cocoa Beach. The Ten Thousand Island area is on my bucket list. Sam thanks for all your hard work (lol) and great videos…

  2. Sam, I’ve been watching you since you went to who are you. But I am so worried about your health. Do you still have that feeding tube in your belly? I noticed that you’re careful to never show the camera your torso. Not to be nosy, but I don’t know how you keep infection
Love to go sailing with you anytime anywhere

  3. As I have said before, young man Sam, you are one crazy son of a bitch! But what an adventure! You are fearless my brother. One important question for you. On a 3 day excursion on this cat, where do you do your morning “business”?? That is a most important process that must happen. How do you accomplish this on that boat??

  4. As a rafter we use sleep pads that can get wet. They are called Paco Pads and made by Jacks Plastics. Would be great for what you are doing as well. Also look at a Roll-a-cot for comfy sleeping on the beach. Happy adventures!!

  5. Solution for your foam cushions: contractor bags and gorilla tape. Works amazingly if the goal is to keep them permanently dry 😄!!

  6. Hey Sam, that was a good sail day on the Cat; no doubt much different from the Pickle. Getting out there away from shore seems a bit risky to me, but I know your well in touch with the basics of when to head to the beach. So I salute your adventurous pursuit. Oh and the Glades, crocs snakes gators, but oh my I'd be on full alert. You are a dandy sailor so keep on Sam. Your friend and Patreon Robert. Cheers!!👍

  7. You got guts I’ll tell you that ! Next time put your clothes and sleeping bag in a plastic drum liner , even when you sleep,

  8. I know I’m 700 hundred comments down, but I was wondering if you ever considered a “crazy creek” style chair on these types of sails? Very comfortable, great for beach camping, easy to wash off, very light and comfy.

  9. Been only on a small cat once with a friend… the difference of what we did and what you do makes our trip look lame.
Hoping to see you modify the heck out of that boat to make it even better 😉

  10. a Wharram 24 would be a lot more confidence inspiring … i think anyone would get nervous on that go too, solo with a little cat …. i have been trying to design a faster mono-hull, with astounding success and innovation thus far….the extra speed is the main thing with a cat, or anything … speed is lees provisions to carry for the same passage….so if you're too slow, then you're vessel is getting heavier and slower the further you plan to go….so i am working really hard to get the theoretical speed up in a self righting package..

  11. Same, get some heavy duty trash bags and keep the cushions in there, you can even sleep on them this way and they will stay dry.

  12. Make sure to pay extra attention to weight distribution, these things are super sensitive to that. You are sitting way too far aft, make sure to move weight close to the mast. Will go much faster that way.

  13. Sam! What ever happened to the Cat left on the beach in the Bahamas?? One Rudder! And Full Ice Chest! And how do you deal with all the mosquitoes and bugs on the beach?? My Favorite Sailing Channel! I always wanted to do what your doing! Too old now

  14. The island south of where you spent the first night is a cool place. Only accessible by boat and the house nearest to where you camped used too be a biden residence btw!! Amazing place

  15. Great video Sam, I really love that part of the world. Been to the Keys 3 times now and could easily live in the Keys. A bit crazy but just a brilliant place!!! I had the same issue with cushions on my boat, so I made some waterproof covers out of ripstop nylon for them. They're not 100% waterproof as the seams may leak but pretty close and I can remove the foam if needed. Haven't tried them in anger yet but should be an improvement. I use them for sitting and sleeping on.

That is a lot of boat to handle single handed, much respect to you!
