Under those conditions those luffs need some serious tightening! Slack is only good for low winds.

By not having the luff tight on either your jib or main (scallops!) , the depth on both sails is mid and very deep, creating a lot of power but also a lot of drag. It also is creating a lot of weather helm which is evident you are fighting. Sail trim matters and will enhance your experience. Get the main up first, get it trimmed, and then bring the jib up. If it's breezy, lower the traveler on the main so you don't overpower.

Great video and good day sailing. Very nice winches, we still have stock winches on . I used a down haul too when we had a hank on fore sail. It made life easier. The 150 Genoa would try to gift wrap me and throw me over. Nothing but air to hold onto up front. I did install a roller fuller , so glad I did . It became much easier for me. It was the Alado brand, no need to climb the mast with it to install the top cable, there isn't one. Thanks for the video ,it inspires me to keep working on ours .
