  1. Don't sell yourself short Maya, your videographer skills are far better than most channels on YouTube. I love the way each episode tells a story and your music selections enhance the narrative. You should be proud, well done!

  2. Great to see you using Beilken sails. I grew up in the town opposite to where they had their loft. The Beilken family in those days, was one of the "hot" assets in German offshore sailing being part of the team that won the Admirals Cup for Germany in 1985.

  3. 13:10 mark, you were experiencing "buck fever," which most deer hunters feel when suddenly confronted by a big rack. It is a powerful feeling, you start to hyperventilate and every nerve in you body is charged with adrenaline.

  4. a wildlife lens is great, but having preset secure mounting plates on the rails changed my life. slipping into a glassy inlet with a capercaillie, a big rare Scottish turkey beautiful, strutting up the beach and having the camera stable mounted to the boat. so it could zoom so far perfect.

  5. What a beautiful island! Your adventures are just amazing! You are correct, music brings people together. We give tours in the swamps of South Louisiana and at times, we have invited our friend who is a Cajun accordion player to accompany us on a tour with our guests. Most of the time, we have French folks onboard and he sings and plays French music and they just love it!! It makes for a spectacular tour!! So much fun!! Happy sailing Magic Carpet and keep those fabulous video's coming. I wait for them weekly!!❤❤

  6. Wonderful video guys Thanks. Back in 2019, during my sailing trip from Denmark to Sweden, I happened to anchor by Krokholmen little island. Which is very near to where you were in this episode. I sailed passed by again this year but not stopping there I carried on further north. But I would like to stop over and do some more exploration of the islands around there hopefully next year. And how wonderful to meet people and even make music together. Back in 1993 while visiting Thailand, I missed my guitar. So I bought one down there. And it was amazing how many people I got to meet just showing up with a guitar in my hands. Music opens the world.

  7. Took me ages to find the island, by Dyrön and Tjörn. Even if I did anchor like you just beside Skutholmen this summer. I was almost scared you found a magic place in my home water I didn't even hear about 😀 I think RAN Sailing did som anchor between the same island about two years ago, before they passed over the atlatic and sold the boat. Your ecitment makes me so happy, I want out and sail again… With less snow….

  8. Gorgeous! What a talented people you are.. Magic Carpet is perfection, the music, the photography, the food, your enthusiasm. I have a sneaking feeling you must be the perfect couple.

  9. You guys have the vibe I love. So much respect for the others and for the present moment. It was a lovely episode. Honoring the name Magic of the boat. I am definitely missing those moments that the ocean can magically offer us.

  10. First time viewer and enjoyed the artistry of your video, it follows a storyline and brought a simple viewer into your journey, building to a happy feeling, reminiscent of similar special moments in my own life. Thank you for sharing.

  11. Nice video 🙂 If you want to smooth out some of the juddery / jerky footage you have while panning you can fine tune stabilisation in FCPX. You can actually add weight to each of the dimensions you find it worst in. You can actually end up with results as smooth as silk if you tweak it. I am surprised a Lumix was that jerky though.

  12. Merry Christmas to you and the boys, Maya, from all of us on Risö. Thank you for all your kind words and you are always welcome back. It was truly a wonderful evening. Every piece of the puzzle fell into place. The sauna is awaiting you.

  13. There are no words to explain the feelings that you generate when listening to your adventures. Wow ! Thank you for all that you do.

  14. This is probably the best episode yet, literally had tears in my eyes from the poignant beauty of the moment.
Thank you Maya for telling the story with such grace and beauty, only as a story like this demands…

    Bryan from Vancouver

  15. I smiled so hard my muscles hurt, so happy for you all…. I the way you express your journey not need have all the details for the eye…. The magic you all experiences is much fun when these happy rides happen….. just beautiful…made me smile…. Plus I use to love sail Sweden

  16. Thank you so much for this video. In June of 2000 we went to Sweden to visit friends. They had a summer house on Orust. We sailed around the nearby islands. We explored. We shared a meal outside overlooking the sea. Our host played his accordion. The daylight lasted until midnight. I will never forget that experience as long as I live. Magic!
