They should have done better handicap staggered category starts. The space was too tight for tacking with several large boats at the first marker.
Could have had the smaller and slower boats pool further back and staged more apart near the harbor bridge. The initial groups were too bunched, varying size and speed at the first marker.

Send out the 100 ft boats first. Then a second later group of 50 to 60 ft. Followed by 32 to 44 ft. Last group less than 32 ft.
