Great – the kite tug is coming. Vessels like this (much bigger and steadier) can sail from one contract to the next pulling freight vessels across the seas, while the last ship unloads. With the quality of wind forcasting trips can be optimised and vast quantities of fuel use avoided.

This concept is so incredible! It looks very challenging to learn how to make it controllable, compared to a conventional rigid wing glider.

However, I think people might object that a glider with a supercavitating paravane on the end of a line is not a "proper" sailing vessel, despite it using the same quintessential principles.
