Wow, looks like a lot of thankless work. How about some alternate ideas for livening up the winter. Consider: 1. Attending the Miami International Boat Show Feb 15-Feb 19, 2. Making a boat delivery in March to Tierra Del Fuego, and/or (3) attending the Amsoil Snowcross races in Grand Rapids March 24-25. You gotta admit it would be more fun than sanding.

If you use the plastic applicator as a first step. Use it to apply the filler. For the second step use a stainless drywall taping knife of 8 or 12 inches depending on open area at a 45* angle. That will speed up your fairing.

Have you got (or requested) a 3/8” belt sander? This is the one that looks like a long finger off the body of the tool. Great for the tight spots, of which you have more than your fair share of.
