Avem O PROBLEMĂ.... (Cu barca noastră)

A fost cu adevărat norocos că am găsit această problemă ascunsă cu barca când am făcut-o, pentru că aceasta avea potențialul de a merge foarte rău într-adevăr! 1. Hmm. Would have done it slightly different. I know, that´s what comments always say. However, putting a thin layer of unfilled epoxy on the grinded surface helps get a better bond, as the thinner resin can create a better mechanical bond in the grinded surface. Later the filled epoxy then creates a chemical bond with this first layer. Secondly: Why not leave a spot of pure epoxy without wood core where the D-Ring wille go? It will become leaky one day anyway. Was it drilled through pure epoxy , that would not be an issue.

  2. A fantastic video. Working with fibreglass can be difficult. The video puts it all in perspective and with the right tools and knowledge nothing is insurmountable. Well done guys.

  3. Excellent video iv got a similar problem on my Moody around the mast step caused by old mast electric fitting leaking letting in water into core I will use 12mm nylon commercial bread board as a new core it will never rot again I have already used the same as a backing to new seacocks

  4. nice job been there donw that i would advise gogin round every decking fitting nd do the same check in the summer ever single bolts can cuase chaose with cores. even just taking a bolt out clrea out he the core with a allen key in a drill then fill with epoxy redrill hole the bed with butil tape.

  5. First! Aloha and Happy New Year!
Now, when I saw how bad that was. I thought you was going to find what Mads found. But looks like you may have dodged a bullet there.
Ok Thank You for a Great video this week and until next time, Aloha from the Big Island of Hawaii!

  6. Oh my goodness, when I saw the title of this video I immediately thought back to my question I asked about the health of the boats skin regarding hot inside and cold outside and I thought god I've jinxed yee….phew, then wiping my brow, when it was just that small area to repair. Anyhow, I'm so happy it all turned out well! Wishing you a wonderful '23 and many more amazing adventures and videos to come. Best wishes, Neil

  7. Happy new year to you all. I hope you have a great year. I love the idea of the challenge and will be keen to see how it goes. I am sure you will succeed.

  8. Here's hoping you had a very good holiday season, may the new year ahead be the best you have ever had. Looking forward to following your journeys around the UK, may the weather treat you kindly.

  9. Another great Cadoha teaser, putting us all on tenterhooks for the next episode! Happy 2023 to Carly, Dom and Hank; keep up the great work!

  10. While the wooden core is fine to me, I would have preferred clean resin first to penetrate deep into wood and existing fiberglass. But you had an expert at hand. Happy new year.

  11. Awesome. Never knew silica was used as a filler with resin. Also, just found your channel, the voice over shots are unreal – looks so cinematic and cosy; suits your voice (coming from a New Zealander). Looking forward to following along on your journey.

  12. Cored Grp hulls and decks are always prone rot where you've got through hull fittings, no matter how much or how expensive the mastic some moisture always gets in eventually. I'd have thought high load areas like that would have been constructed with a solid core both to spread the load and prevent such issues, was that main sheet system a retro fit? Nice fix in any case. The only thing I'd have done differently would be to feather back the edge of the top layer of existing deck so the new glass had a good bond to it. But ask ten boat builders how to do a repair and you'll get ten different answers
    .

  13. Wow. I was quite concerned for you initially then very impressed by how you and Andy did what you did.

  14. What can I say, ur both a class act, top shelf. 🇦🇺🇬🇧 I've been wanting a cubic mini forever, but it's just too far out of my budget, they are just the perfect little wood heater/stove.

  15. Hi , winter repairs ah , don,t you just love it . Cadoha has served you well over the years so some tlc is well disserved . Have a great new year and the 365 days will really be of interest and catch you on the next one .😉👍

  16. Dom that repair will certainly be as strong as the original.
FYI for future you missed an opportunity to improve , the plywood is not a great compression member for such a high point loading, it would have been better to use some Fiberglass off cuts as core ( boat yards are full of discarded pieces of boats!) this would be similar to the usual replacing of core with solid epoxy. ( or just build up solid laminate).
Also plain cabosil/thickener added to the epoxy has NO structural properties, it does not increase the strength of the epoxy compared to solid epoxy, milled glass fiber is a better strength additive. But in this repair it will not make a different , just common miss conception. (making it thicker to use does not make it stronger cured).
    Cheers Warren

  17. Your Project 365 is very inspiring. I’m über interested to see how you produce hot water using the wood stove.

  18. OMG a hole in the boat is not great. Boats eh they ever cease to keep you on your toes do they. Happy new year to you three. Hope you had a nice Xmas. Great repair on the boat there. Resin fascinates me. There’s so many different types of it. It’s the best stuff ever invented. Thanks for sharing peeps.

  19. You two are the most level headed folks I know of! Thank you for your videos and the “365” was well done and well presented. Would that I had more funds but alas a very heartfelt “thank you” will have to suffice!

  20. Another great video .
    Thanks for posting❤.

Just visited your website… Project 360 seems ideal and a concept close to my heart as I plan to retire as a liveaboard in Australia in 5 years. (as self sufficient as possible)
very much looking forwards to your future posts.
    cheers mate

  21. It's horrible when you find something nasty on your boat! I have a little crack opened up at the base of a stantion so this 'how we did it' video was really useful thanks! Happy New Year, looking forward to your adventures in 2023. David.

  22. I just subscribed! The YouTube sailing channel game is SATURATED at the moment. La Vagabonde, Delos, Wynns etc kicked things off all those years ago and now everyone wants a piece of the sailing life some channels are a lot better than others. After scrolling through hundreds of channels I came across yours. It's brilliant. Your story format, filming, music choice, drone footage, smiles on camera etc are a joy to watch. Thank you.

  23. That screeching noise was Mads and Ava doing a handbrake turn at the prospect of another Warrior deck rebuild! Stand-down Mads, put the sander away – they've dot this sorted!

  24. Funnily I thought you did this backwards, I would have preferred to attack it from below leaving the gel coat and top layer of glass fibre in place and getting to core via internal layer of glass fibre, then there would have been minimal intrusion on your gel coat and being inside you would have had the warmth of the boat to dry any glass fibre. It may have been more dusty, but that can be isolated
