I have a Mantus M1 which has never dragged and I also have a Danforth with sharpened to a point flukes which has also never dragged.

With that Mantis anchor at least you know your dinghy is not going to blow away in a hurricane. Not sure how practical I would find it to take apart your anchor to stowe it every time. It's quite a bit bigger then a collapse able Dantford, I would say that's a disadvantage of a Mantis anchor.

I would have thought that the pressure of the water depth on the sand would improve holding. On the beach when the anchor digs in, the loose sand above it isn’t compacted by water. Any ideas?
