My thought on the windlass is have someone fabricate a durable, strong stainless steel shelf and secure it to the hull. Bolt the windlass to that. Just an idea.

Hi David, nice episode. Could you take 10mm out of the joinery panel to the left of the oven? Could ream out the swing area on the left side? Would give you a shift to the left to miss the drawers? For windlass will need to be stripped out, cut the rot out, fix marine ply 20mm board and re glass in situe..

The windlass – how about a stainless steel strut? Rip out the old setup and get something installed that isn't going to mind taking some strain when required.

Looking at that anchor fixing and rotting may I suggest that a dexion type reinforced square box be fitted below any double thick table top all thickly primered and top coated to prevent future corrosion. Why? Because your whole vessel is at the mercy of external forces all focused at one single point and making sure that load spreads across multiple points of contact with the boat will bring huge peace of mind at anchorage. Just a thought …can you not just tweak the LH gimble point backwards or the RH one forwards a couple of mm then the oven door should clear the trim.
