Wow betide an old bloke has an opinion for young people. Now transom at least 50 mm thick cut out to enable threaded steel rods 2 nth south aligned with the hingers and 2 east west aligned with the connectors to your wire rope all encased in epoxy then screwed up and tensioned. The hinges we found in the rubbish came off an old style fridge and where massive. The hingers we stripped the old chrome off and had it rechromed. Parties where had on that transom and it is still cruising the world. From an old bloke. Bless you both.

I love how you’re already making decisions by how the babies are feeling! Some of them do get seasick, but usually just sleepy…..”Sailing Sunday” has been sailing all over the world with “Jackson” their German Shepherd for years & they rescued so many puppies from the islands and vetted them, fixed them up and found homes for them, so no matter what people tell you, it’s not that hard to manage , just paperwork……ugh! Your guy’s are going to be fun to watch grow up, they’re already so beautiful and there’s TWO!! They’re very “labor” intensive, but then you guy’s are too, it’s perfect!

Utterly irresponsible to take two large (70+ pounds as adults) on a small sailboat. No netting for the safety of the dogs. I’ve sailed with a golden retriever on a Swan 48 back in the ‘80s and she was a water dog in her element. Never did it again but have sailed 180,000 miles with cats. They adapt much better to boat life and don’t need to be walked. Hope for the dogs that this works but I’m pessimistic.

Also may not happen – but did to us, 2 puppies from the same litter fighting – it is called littermate syndrome – so just keep an eye on them as they get a little older – we had 2 puppies from the same litter before these 2 and had no problems – so good luck
