  2. I would have added angle support like a triangle under the stainless steel to help keep them level and makes them 10x stronger. The load of a winch is much more than they seem. I also agree Ben is getting way better from the experience he has gotten over the last couple years.

  3. Are you putting some sheets or panels on top of the slats? If not It’s just tough to reach behind there should something fall through the slats…

  4. Old trick to shiny up stainless steel: wipe it with that liquid Old English wood furniture polish. We did that all the time in my days helping manage a custom stainless steel manufacturing firm. It might be known out there but, at the time, it was new for me anyway. Our master welder taught me that one.

  5. Another week another satisfying episode. Thanks a bunch again: each week I look forward to the next episode.
It's very satisfying seeing your furniture take shape, so I imagine that you two are really happy as it's literally taking shape each day.
I'll be interested to see the settee finished and the size of access holes you get on the bench bottoms and backs.
Keep up the good work, see you next week.
    Cheers from Canada

  6. Changing the the original plans of the boat like bunk height excetra changes the way the boat sails,I would be trying to keep the weight down for a low center of gravity, but that boat yard seems to work on tourist boats like the Pirate ships I see, boat building has come a long way since the 1700s,and your boat will never be a high proformance vessel, all the best for giving it a go and doing something, your starting to put Phillips head screws in I see,the old flat head screws are rubbish

  7. Hi Ben & MP. I love what you are doing and how hard working you two are. I do have a question. I grew up on the ocean in New England and have had several wooden boats. Back in the 60's and 70's a lot of boat owners got the bright idea to fiberglass wooden boats only to find out that in a couple of years the wood dry rotted and had to be replaced. You are using a lot of fiberglass and epoxy on the Yaba. Are you worried about having a problem with dry rot because the wood cannot breath? I envy the access to hard wood that you have. Purple Heart is my favorite. I look forward to launch date. Mike.

  8. i'm sure youtubers are very concerned with time, like the 2 yrs of this rebuild. my comment is this, i've been watching every wk for the whole time now and it does not in any way feel like 2 yrs, so you two crazy kids keep going and if the time causes you to think interest is waning, it is not. on the contrary I'm looking forward to the launch and where you point her for the first sail.

  9. At 10:02; I'm surprises there's no gusset for that extra level of support for such an important, and what sounds like a stress laden purpose. 😉

  10. i have been watching from day one but its getting boring now because its all the same talking and talking over the same thing every week now pls change it up a little

  11. I am super excited to see the downstairs rooms come together. That haul of yours will never leak when he is finished chalking LOL some areas 4x's wow. MP your not that short hehehe but I did agree putting the winches lower was a very good idea 🙂

  12. Going to get your tickets to man and navigate? the boat curious when are the plans to plash ? amazing the work you all have done have watched this day one ,all the best for2023 from Vung Tau Vietnam

  13. Ben & MP it's exciting to see the interior coming along well and one thing you mentioned was putting holes in the floorboards for easy lifting when you need to. I recommend that you secure the floorboards in the open areas to stop them flying around if ever you get caught in a knockdown or roll over. It happened to us in a Pacific storm in 1994 and one of our crew suffered a back injury when a floorboard hit him. Also, the plumbing fittings you were going to get from NZ would have been the John Guest snap fit system. This is manufactured in the UK – you may find it might be quicker to deal direct with the manufacturer if your Brazilian system does not work out.
